I'm fortunate enough to have two Blu-Ray players, this Sony and the Samsung BD-P1500 1080p Blu-ray Player, both players at the bottom tier of their brand. While I see a reason to get the next step up for Samsung (since it streams Netflix), I believe this Sony will be just as useful as its more expensive cousin. After all, except for true videophiles, most people won't use the advanced features of their players.

A BD player was on my wish list for some time. I was just waiting for the prices for reputable brands to fall. Then Amazon offered this at a VERY good price just before Christmas, so I jumped. It helped that it had the Sony name on it and that PC Magazine rated it the best player in its class. It has done everything that I expected, providing a great picture. The Sony Blue-Ray player has been a fantastic addition to our family's entertainment choice and has rejuvenated our old collection of DVD's.
They are much clearer on the Blue-Ray Player.

The BDP-S350 is a great buy and a good machine, easy to set up and loads movies quickly. Picture is very good and the optical output to a home theater is well balanced. Some of the extra features I have not used.
